MiTestimony
When I was finished with school, I went to a university, and there I started to get more and more into the wrong mindset and lost myself. I left there because I thought that it was because I was no longer with everybody I knew, but it was not the case. When I got back home, I started to work all the time. The work was so time-consuming that I fell into a very bad mindset. It felt like I did not have a purpose in the world at all, and it felt as if I would pass away, that it would not affect anybody. My sister invited me to come to church with her. I got more and more involved as my sister invited me more. I started to join all the things the church had, even if I had to cancel my plans, because I found a place I felt safe. All the love that was in and around the church called out to me. It finally felt like I was doing something right. My life improved so much after I chose to be more active in the church. This past December, with all the obedience services, I had some wonderful fellowship with lots of people, and all the conversations I had felt as if they were pointing in one direction. I had my doubts about what I needed to do because I had a great job, and the work time was not too bad. I was hesitant to leave my workplace because I now had a car and lots of things that needed to be paid for. Knowing this, I spoke to someone who knew the word a bit better, and the words they said were like a burning fire. I realized what I had to do. I spoke to Pastor Christi about what was on my heart, and she said it was the right way to go. I spoke to my workplace about what I decided to do. They thought it was one big joke and did not take me seriously. After a few meetings, they did not want me to leave, so I went and told them I needed to, and after more than a month, I went to them and said I would not be coming back the next day. They did not believe me. All of them were so mad. On the day I did not show up for work, they all phoned me and said bad things to me, but I did not worry because I cast my cares, for 1 Peter 5:7 says ‘casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.’. After that, I came to the church, not looking back at all. The first day was very hard. I came from a place with no women, only two people together, not a lot of talking and knowing what to do and expect from every day, to a place where the people are so loving and talkative on going with the day with no set schedule. That was the only overwhelming thing about moving in the right direction. After my ears and head adjusted to the different noises, the atmosphere was like a fragrant meadow full of different like diversity, but also oneness in the Lord. So you can just comprehend how great every waking moment has been since then. So I’m hoping and believing that every day will be more and more blessed getting closer to the word of God.
